Changelog

What's new at Basefund.

We ship improvements regularly. Here's the latest.

New
Ongoing Transactions
  • Define a Secure Transaction once, then run repeated payments against it — debt service, trustee disbursements, contractor payments, recurring transfers.
  • New verification flow for outside participants — counterparties can verify identity without a tenant account.
  • Flow-of-funds editor: create, edit, and duplicate flows with safer delete guards and a clearer Amount row.
  • Faster page loads and snappier navigation across the app after a frontend rebuild on the Next.js App Router.
Improved
Tighter Forms Across the App
  • Layout, validation, and form components standardized across Secure Transactions and Members — fewer surprises, more consistent error states.
New
Login-Location Exceptions
  • Account owners can grant per-user exceptions for sign-ins from new locations — cuts down on legitimate logins blocked while traveling.
New
Address-level Wire Instructions
  • Wire instructions can now be attached to a specific verified address, so disbursements always settle to the right destination.
Improved
Flow of Funds Updates
  • Smoother flow-of-funds editing: cleaner add/remove rows, better keyboard handling, fewer reload-induced state losses.
Improved
Beneficiary Management
  • Added/updated beneficiary fields and editing on the transaction page.
New
Sub-transaction Coordinators
  • New Sub-transaction Coordinator role can create and edit sub-transactions, but cannot modify the primary or add Coordinators.
  • Owners/Coordinators can no longer edit their own roles, preventing accidental demotions.
Improved
Faster Transactions List + Direct Navigation
  • 50% faster initial load for the Secure Transactions list, with background updates via improved fetch policy.
  • Default filter now Open (includes Locked) for snappier loads; All/Closed still available.
  • Jump directly to a sub-transaction from the list via the right-side arrow.
New
New Pricing Live
  • System-wide pricing updates are active for closings and payments.
  • Billing and insurance calculations now align with the new model.
New
Decline Insurance (Explicit Action)
  • New Decline Insurance action marks a disbursement as declined and stops attention prompts. Gives coordinators a clear, auditable way to opt out.
  • Skipping ID check does not auto-decline; users must intentionally decline via the ID Verify → Decline Insurance path.
Improved
Payments + Insurance UI Update
  • Added Insurance column to the Transactions list.
  • Coverage box on Disbursements (top-right) for quick status.
  • Insurance form completely redesigned (simpler, fewer steps).
  • Refreshed insurance notification bar on the View page.
  • Transactions now show Created and Updated timestamps.
  • Secure Payments: insurance handled per-disbursement.
  • Billing page reflects insurance fee to invoice.

Improved
Basefund.com Homepage Update
The Basefund app now has a smoother login and account creation experience.
New
ID Verification + Transaction Insurance
ID Verification

Identity verification (KYC) is now available for all transaction participants. Once participants provide identification data and documentation, they’ll be marked as verified — adding another layer of security to every transaction.

Insurance Now Available for Wires

Transaction Insurance is now offered as an optional safeguard for Secure Closings. Coordinators can add coverage tailored to their transaction amount, providing extra protection and peace of mind when moving funds.

New
Transaction Locking, Clearer Roles & Sub-Transactions
Transaction Locking System
  • Lock button added to transactions for enhanced security.
  • Only coordinators can lock/unlock transactions.
  • When locked, all transaction modifications are prevented including: adding or editing accounts, editing transaction information, adding senders, clearers, or receivers.
Clearer Role Support
  • Clearer role integrated into the transaction stepper.
  • Clearers can set up one-time transactions without being listed as participants.
  • Clearers have authority to establish both sender and receiver for transactions.
Sub-Transaction Functionality
  • Create Sub-Transaction option added via “Edit Transaction” button.
  • Streamlined creation form with minimal required details for maximum flexibility.
  • Parent-child relationship linking: parent transactions display links to sub-transactions; sub-transactions display links to parent transactions.
  • Access permissions inherited from parent transaction.
  • Participants remain responsible for entering their own account information.
  • Sub-transaction count now visible on transaction list page (displayed as numbered chip next to transaction type).
Enhanced Transaction Visibility
  • Transaction state now displayed on transaction view pages.
  • State filter added to transaction list page for improved navigation.
Improved
Wire Retain Method + UI Refinements
  • Wire: Retain is now a transaction method and upon selecting, participants are not able to enter instructions, the closing memo is updated, and the completion percentage is no longer using that disbursement.
  • OBI details are hidden on the PDF and disbursement popup.
  • Basefund’s account can be seen by sender/clearer and no longer requires a “from.”
